Classroom: Student Data (for schools and co-ops)

What we collect

Students: a nickname (2–20 letters or numbers; teachers are asked to avoid real last names), a 4-digit PIN stored only as a scrambled hash, and what the student does in the class economy (jobs, pretend money, store purchases, quests, simulated investing).

No student email, birthday, photo, voice, location or real name. The class's age group, set by the teacher, decides which screens students see.

Teachers: name and email, and either a password or Google sign-in (we receive only the name and email Google shares; students never use Google).

How it's used

Only to run the class economy for that class. No advertising, no outside analytics or trackers, no selling or sharing. The AI tutor is never on in a class.

Our own usage counts (for example 'a job was approved') help us improve the app; they contain no names or content.

Who sees it

The class's teacher. Our service providers (database and hosting) process it only to run the app. Families, grandparents and other classes cannot see a class.

A student's own parent, only if the teacher gives that parent a one-time code and the parent consents: they see a summary of that student's class progress. The teacher sees only that the student is linked, never the family.

If the teacher attaches the class to a school, co-op or district in the app, its leaders see class totals only (number of students, activity, jobs, amounts saved, standards reached), never a student's nickname or records.

Access log

Every time an adult opens a student's records (the student's page, a one-page summary, a linked parent's summary, or an export), the app records who (by role), which student, what and when. The teacher can see this log and include it when answering a records request.

Keeping and deleting

The teacher sets the day the class ends and how long to keep it after that (30 to 365 days). The class and all its records are then deleted automatically, with reminders 14 and 3 days before. With no end date set, nothing is deleted automatically.

The teacher can download one student's records, delete one student and all their records, or delete the whole class at any time.
