When your kid wants to spend
They ask, you say yes or not now.
What it is
Your kid asks to spend from their Spend jar (or to move money out of Save). You approve and record how the real money moved, or say not now with a note.
Why it helps your kid
Asking first gives a pause to think, and you a chance to talk about it.
Where to find it
Home → Requests card. To record a purchase yourself: Kids tab → your kid → They spent money.
How to do it
- When a request comes in, open Home.
- Tap how the real money moved: Gave cash, I bought it, Venmo, Apple Cash or Other. That approves it.
- Or tap Not now and add a note. They'll see it.
- If they spent money without asking in the app, record it on their page under They spent money.
What your kid sees
"Waiting on a parent" until you decide, then a yes or "not this time" with your note.
Questions parents ask
Can they move money into Save without asking?
Yes. Saving and giving are always instant. Only taking money out of Save needs you.
What's "sleep on it"?
For bigger wishlist buys, the app makes them wait a set number of hours before they can ask. It's part of your Family Money Plan.
