How the money works

You are the bank. The app keeps the records. No real money moves.

What it is

The app never touches real money. It's a record book, like a bank statement, that you and your kids share. When your kid earns $5, the app writes it down. When they want to spend it, you hand over the cash (or buy the thing) and the app writes that down too.

Why it helps your kid

Kids learn money by watching a number change because of what they did. Keeping real money out of the app means no cards, no bank accounts and nothing to steal, and you stay in charge of every real dollar.

Where to find it

Everywhere. Each kid has jars: Spend, Save and Give (and Invest if you turn investing on).

How to do it

  1. Money comes in from jobs, allowance, gifts, interest and bonuses.
  2. On payday it is split into the jars by the percentages you set (for example Spend 50%, Save 40%, Give 10%).
  3. When your kid wants to spend, they ask in the app. You say yes and pick how the real money moved (cash, you bought it, Venmo, Apple Cash, other).
  4. Every change is written down and never erased. A mistake is fixed with Undo, which writes the opposite entry, just like a real bank.
  5. "Committed" on your Home screen is how much you've promised the kids so far. That's the real money you'd hand over if every jar were cashed out.

What your kid sees

Their jars, what's in each, and a list of everything that came in and went out.

Questions parents ask

Where is the real money kept?

Wherever you like: your wallet, a piggy bank, your own account. The app just tracks what belongs to them.

Can my kid take money without asking?

No. Moving money into Save or Give is instant, but spending and taking money out of Save always need a parent.
