Add a kid
Name, birthday, a face and a PIN.
What it is
Each kid gets a profile, not an account. No email, no phone number. Their birthday picks which version of the app they see: 5–9 (big and simple, with read-aloud), 10–13, or 14–17 (plain numbers and more tools).
Why it helps your kid
The right version for their age keeps it easy for little ones and not babyish for teens. They move up by themselves on their birthday.
Where to find it
Kids tab → + Add a kid (or Home → + Add a kid).
How to do it
- Type their name (a first name or nickname is fine).
- Enter their birthday.
- Pick an avatar (the face they'll tap to sign in).
- Choose a PIN of 4 to 6 digits. Not their birthday, please.
- For kids under 13, tick the parent-consent box. The law (COPPA) asks us to record that you said yes.
- Tap Add kid. They start with your Family Money Plan's allowance, split and interest.
What your kid sees
Their face on the "Who's this?" screen, then their own Home.
Questions parents ask
Can I hide a kid without losing their history?
Yes. Kids tab → your kid → Settings → untick Active.
Can I change the version they see?
Yes, in Settings → App version. Automatic from age is best for most families.
