Goals and matching
Saving for something, with you chipping in.
What it is
A goal is money set aside inside Save for something specific, like a bike. You can match it: for every $1 they put in, you add some, like a 401(k).
Why it helps your kid
A goal gives saving a reason. A match teaches that patience earns extra.
Where to find it
Kids tab → your kid → Goals & wishlist. Kids can also make goals on their Goals tab.
How to do it
- Under New goal with a match, enter the name, the price, and the match % (50% = 50¢ per $1). Add a cap if you like.
- Tap Create goal.
- Your kid adds money from any jar. Your match is added automatically, never past the goal.
- At 100% they tap Buy it. You approve it like any request.
What your kid sees
A progress bar with the percent saved, and how many paydays or jobs it'll take.
Questions parents ask
What if they change their mind?
They can cancel the goal. The money stays in Save.
